Health and Safety Representatives

  • What is a HSR?
The primary role of a HSR is to represent workers on health and safety through ongoing consultation and cooperation between the workers of a work group and the employer.
  • HSR Strategy
The HSR Strategy has been developed to encourage and support Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) in their role.
  • HSR Handbook
The handbook provides the opportunity to engage early on with new HSRs and ensure they are aware of their duties and responsibilities.
  • HSR Heroes
Do you have a HSR Hero that is committed to safety in your workplace? Nominate them for our recognition program now!
  • Notification of elected HSRs
PCBUs must notify us of HSR election outcomes as soon as possible following an election at their workplace.
  • HSR portal
Our Health and Safety Representative (HSR) portal is a secure online network of information about South Australian HSR election results, HSR contact details and completed HSR training.
  • HSR training
Information about HSRs training entitlements and upcoming approved training courses.
  • Approved training provider information
Information for new and current training providers and HSR training course development.
  • HSRs for work groups of multiple businesses
Multiple-business work groups are voluntary and built on the commitment of the various PCBUs to collaborate in addressing health and safety matters.
  • Provisional Improvement Notices
A provisional improvement notice (PIN) is an important tool which enables trained HSRs to resolve work health and safety issues in the workplace.
  • Stopping unsafe work
The law enables workers to stop or refuse to carry out unsafe work if there is a reasonable concern they would be exposed to a serious health or safety risk
  • HSR Connect
Click through to sign up to our quarterly HSR Connect newsletter.
  • HSR Assist
Resources including fact sheets, how-to guides and videos to help HSRs understand how to get the most out of their roles can be accessed on our HSR Assist page.
