SafeWork SA is investigating an incident where a worker has sustained a serious facial injury whilst using an angle grinder fitted with a non‑compatible saw type (milling) blade.

The angle grinder was being used to prepare material to be welded when it became jammed and kicked back into the face of the worker.

SafeWork SA reminds users of angle grinders to only use cuttings discs specifically designed for the equipment as recommended by the manufacturer.
