SafeWork SA has been liaising with Teys, union representatives and SA Health in relation to the current working arrangements at that site.

In line with the Emergency Management Direction on 12 January 2022, SA Health issued an exemption to a cohort of workers to enable them to leave quarantine to undertake work at Teys.

The statement that SafeWork SA did not investigate the matter because it was too much of a risk to let its inspectors visit the site, is incorrect.

SafeWork SA routinely attends sites, determined to be unsafe including matters relating to Covid-19.

SafeWork SA will not be releasing any further information at time.
