25 April, Anzac Day shop trading arrangements

Anzac Day has unique shop trading arrangements.

Trading is allowed from 12 noon to 5pm for:

  • non-exempt shops in the Central Business District (CBD) Tourist Precinct, excluding motor vehicle and boat dealers
  • shops specialising in the retail sale of hardware and building materials, furniture, floor coverings and motor vehicle spare parts and accessories (within the ambit of section 13(5e) of the Shop Trading Hours Act 1977) located within the Greater Adelaide Shopping District and any other Proclaimed District.

All non-exempt shops outside the CBD Tourist Precinct are not able to trade.

As a mark of respect for Anzac Day commemorations, exempt shops (smaller shops, certain specialty stores and all shops that are not within a Shopping District - the vast majority of South Australia's retail sector) are asked to remain closed until 12 noon .
