Emergency communications for lifts, fire panels and medical alarms

As business and residential properties are being transitioned from the existing communication system to the NBN, emergency communication devices installed in lifts, fire management panels, monitored security systems and medical alarms may be impacted.

In consideration of issues arising from the NBN rollout, some systems require localised or area power supplies to operate correctly. Any power loss in the building or area may result in the loss of emergency communication.

To assist NBN in managing the issues arising from the rollout, NBN has established two registers to support the safe migration from the existing networks:
