SafeWork SA’s progress report on the Strategic Plan shows the agency is on track to achieve success against set objectives after first 18 months.

SafeWork SA’s Strategic Plan was released in March 2019 to set the objectives for the next three years.

SafeWork SA’s Executive Director, Martyn Campbell committed to reporting on the achievements and that the 18 month progress report shows overall progress on each of the initiatives.

“I am pleased how we are tracking in delivering on our objectives. Over the past year and a half, we have focused on becoming an agile and trusted organisation and ensuring interactions with us are simpler and more efficient”.

“Reflecting on the many achievements of the past 18 months, I would like to recognise the hard work of our passionate and committed workforce.

The Strategic Plan, along with strong continued leadership and governance will ensure our momentum continues with our objectives remaining a key focus”.

Objectives reported on track over the past 18 months include:

  • Industry engagement with peak stakeholders
  • A reduction in the number of complaints received
  • Complaints received, responded to within defined time frames
  • Website redevelopment
  • Compliance and enforcement activity appropriately exercised
  • Increased number of training programs for staff development

The final Strategic Plan report is due in 2022.
