National Safe Work Month is held each October and provides business with an opportunity to reflect on how they promote work health and safety within their workplace.

Each year National Safe Work Month follows a different theme. In 2021 we are encouraging all employers and workers to think safe. work safe. be safe. This theme highlights three important stages of work health and safety - planning, implementing and managing. This campaign is led by Safe Work Australia and is supported by SafeWork SA.

With only two weeks to go until National Safe Work Month, SafeWork SA is encouraging workplaces to start planning an activity that will raise awareness about important work health and safety issues in their workplace and join our Organise your own workplace activity competition.

By registering an activity with SafeWork SA businesses will go into the running to win a prize from our $2000 prize pool. The competition runs throughout the month of October so workplaces can register their activity anytime until 31 October 2021.

The 2020 competition saw 27 South Australian businesses registering events, with 6 businesses receiving awards and recognition for their originality and workplace engagement as they championed safety.
