In response to the incidents that led to worker injuries at Circus Rio, SafeWork SA has conducted a comprehensive safety audit of the circus’ operations.

An additional nine prohibition notices have been issued, requiring the circus to rectify non-compliance with the Work Health & Safety legislation related to rigging, winches, electrical equipment and the licensing of high risk work. These issues must be resolved and compliance met before the related items and equipment can be used.

Worker and public safety is our paramount concern.

SafeWork SA is working with the City of Holdfast Bay in this matter. The City of Holdfast Bay has issued a media statement in relation to Circus Rio.
