We are accountable to the Treasurer for administering a number of Acts and Regulations in South Australia related to work health and safety (including public safety and mining), daylight saving and shop trading hours, worker relations and dangerous substances.


When legislative requirements in our jurisdiction are being reviewed or developed, we are committed to effective stakeholder consultation before making any recommendations to the Treasurer.

Work health and safety

South Australia's work health and safety laws align with New South Wales, Queensland, Tasmania, the Australian Capital Territory, the Northern Territory and the Commonwealth who have adopted the same national model laws.
