International Workers' Memorial Day

The International Workers' Memorial Day service commemorates lives lost to work-related death.

The 2019 service commemorating International Workers' Memorial Day and World Day for Safety and Health at Work in South Australia will be held at 3pm on Sunday 28 April 2019 at the Pilgrim Uniting Church, 12 Flinders Street, Adelaide.

Everyone affected by a work-related death or significant trauma is welcome to attend this service and provided the opportunity to contribute a personal item or photograph for the memorial display.

The commemorative service will feature a candle-lighting ceremony as well as the symbolic release of doves. Light refreshments will be served after the service in the hall adjoining the church.

International Workers' Memorial Day is an initiative of Voice of Industrial Death (VOID) and supported by the Government of South Australia, Pilgrim Uniting Church, SA Council of Churches, SA Unions, Asbestos Victims Association, and Asbestos Diseases Society of SA.

International Workers' Memorial Day is held annually on 28 April.
