Manager, Construction

A rewarding opportunity is available for a person with an enthusiastic approach to join SafeWork SA working with the construction industry in a safety context. 

In this role, you will lead and manage proactive and reactive compliance and enforcement initiatives for the construction industry sectors. Engaging with key industry stakeholders, the role will develop, manage and deliver strategies to support the Construction Team and SafeWork SA.

The successful incumbent will have significant experience and knowledge of the construction industry and have worked in a legal, regulatory or law enforcement environment. You will have strong experience in taking a strategic approach to the delivery of team outcomes, communicating and negotiating with a diverse range of people, leading and directing teams and employees, running process improvement projects, and successfully working with a wide range of stakeholders at local and national levels.

Chief Advisor, Construction

A fulfilling opportunity is available for a person with an enthusiastic approach to join SafeWork SA working with the construction industry in a safety context. 

In this role, you will supervise, coordinate and coach a team of Inspectors engaged in regulatory enforcement activities. You will ensure effective operational application of work health and safety, the delivery of intervention activities, be responsible for the performance and development of individuals, and management of daily operational activities.

The successful incumbent will have minimum five years’ experience in commercial sites, residential sites, high risk work, heavy machinery or cranes in construction. You will possess skills in communicating and negotiating with a diverse range of people, managing complex projects, performing compliance and enforcement duties, working with a range of stakeholders at local and national levels, and analysing data.

WHS Inspector 

An exciting opportunity is available for a WHS Inspector with an enthusiastic approach to join SafeWork SA working with the construction industry in a safety context. 

In this role, you will engage and connect with workers and employers to ensure workplaces are safe. You will use your legislated powers in both a reactive and proactive setting to assist South Australia enjoys the highest standards of workplace and public safety.

The successful incumbent will have proven abilities in investigating possible breaches of workplace legislation, recording statements, writing reports, maintaining records, collecting evidence and presenting in court. You will have experience in applying legislative authority, facilitating improvements in workplace legislative performance, and developing and implementing improvement strategies. You will demonstrate ability to understand client needs, liaise with industry stakeholders, provide advice, and communicate effectively.
