On 1 February 2012, Fair Work Australia (FWA) released its decision on the national pay equity case. FWA ruled that community sector wages should be increased by between 19% and 41% over the next 8 years to take into account a systematic undervaluation of wages reflecting the predominance of female workers in that sector.
