One set of consistent laws across Australia regulating Work Health and Safety will reduce compliance costs for business and protect the safety of every person in the workplace ... no matter where their work occurs.

The Upper House of the South Australian Parliament deferred debate on the Work Health and Safety Bill 2011 (SA) until 14 February 2012. This means that the model work health and safety legislation will not operate in South Australia from 1 January 2012.
