Approved OHS consultants

The following list of Approved OHS consultants provide their services free of charge to Health and Safety Representatives for the purpose of Section 32(3)(a) of the Occupational Health, Safety and Welfare Act 1986. These consultants will continue to be recognised when the new Work Health and Safety Act 2012 (SA) commences operation on 1 January 2013.

For changes to your contact details or conditions of approval you must inform SafeWork SA within 14 calendar days of the intended changes.

WHS Harmonisation Changes

SafeWork SA wishes to announce that due to the impending WHS Harmonisation changes to South Australian OHSW legislation -

SafeWork SA will no longer accept applications, effective 3 June 2011, for approval as an Approved Consultant.

HSRs are still entitled to be accompanied by an existing Approved Consultant until 1 January 2012.

Effective 1 January 2012 HSRs will no longer be entitled to be accompanied by an Approved Consultant, under section 32(2)(a) and (3)(a) of the OHSW Act, during an inspection of the workplace.
