Anzac Day (Thursday, 25 April 2013) Trading Arrangements

Non-exempt shops in the Central Business District (CBD) Tourist Precinct, excluding motor vehicle and boat dealers, can trade from 12 noon until 5 pm on Anzac Day.

All shops within the ambit of section 13(5e) of the Act (which are shops specialising in the retail sale of hardware and building materials, furniture, floor covering and motor vehicle spare parts and accessories) that are located within the Greater Adelaide Shopping District and any other Proclaimed District must remain closed until 12 noon. These shops can resume trading after 12 noon on Anzac Day, if they choose to do so, and trade until the normal closing time of 5 pm.

All non-exempt shops outside the Central Business District (CBD) Tourist Precinct are not able to trade in accordance with section 13(6)(b) of the Act.

Exempt shops (i.e. smaller shops, certain specialty stores and all shops that are not within a Shopping District) are also requested to remain closed until 12 noon as a mark of respect for Anzac Day commemorations.

Please note that these trading arrangements are unique to Anzac Day. On other public holidays (excluding Good Friday and Christmas Day) non-exempt shops in the CBD Tourist Precinct can trade from 11am until 5pm and shops within the ambit of section 13(5e) can trade from 9am until 5pm.
