Web-based activities and tests offer a convenient alternative to expensive classroom Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) training. These tests offer your students many advantages:
- available from the Internet
- visually-based for easy learning
- can be scheduled at any time.
Some tests also offer a Certificate of Achievement available from a desktop printer.
Get Certified The Get Certified resource has been removed from this website. Please use the Safety Check test below or visit our Youth@Work website at http://www.safework.sa.gov.au/youth for information on Passport to Safety.
Safety Check A basic test for workers covering OHS laws and hazards - such as hazardous substances, noise and manual handling - common to many workplaces. A printable certificate is available on completion.
Hunt the Hazards A challenge for high school students in year 8-9. Can you spot the hazards in the supermarket, warehouse or kitchen? A great test of awareness for those about to embark on work experience for the first time.
Virtual Hotel Visit the Virtual Hotel and put your safety knowledge to the test: can you avoid injuries in the bottle shop, kitchen, dining room or front bar? This test is designed for employees of the hospitality industry, especially young casual workers who may lack opportunities for formal OHS training.
The Virtual Kitchen was built prior to incorporation into the Virtual Hotel, and can be accessed individually.
Virtual Office Working in the office environment may not be as safe as you think! A test of safety knowledge designed for students and young workers, or workers who may need reminding to be alert for hazards in the workplace.
Virtual Supermarket A test for employees working in retail. The Virtual Supermarket allows young, casual workers to spot common hazards caused by slips, trips, falls and customers - to name a few - are you ready?
