Fair Work Act 1994 and New National IR Legislation

From 1 January 2010, the whole of the private sector, including the non-government community services sector, private schools and universities, will be covered by the Commonwealth Fair Work Act 2009. 

Accordingly from 1 January 2010, the State Fair Work Act 1994 only applies unconditionally to the South Australian public sector, local government and prescribed Government Business Enterprises.
