Working Safely in Manufacturing Kit

The Working Safely in Manufacturing Kit is a self paced OHS learning kit that has been designed for use by managers, supervisors and employees to assist the industry's small to medium size businesses improve their safety performance by providing individual modules which can be worked through at your own pace. The kit has been modified and updated from the previously developed "Plastics and Rubber Self Paced Learning Kit".

There are 6 safety modules within the Kit, with a quiz section at the end of modules 2-6 to test user's knowledge. There are also additional resources, case-studies and tools to assist with the practical implementation of OHS in the workplace.

The Kit was developed in 2010 by the Safer Manufacturing Working Group, with funding from SafeWork SA and project management by The Australian Industry Group, SA Branch. Assisting the working group was Marion Pocock (Project Consultant).

Safer Workplaces Video

The Safer Workplaces video is designed to be part of an induction process for new people entering the manufacturing industry and as a refresher for existing employees. This 32 minute program covers many important safety concepts and features a wide range of Adelaide's manufacturing enterprises. The video covers common manufacturing issues, as well as interviews with people that are working directly in manufacturing.

The video is available as a DVD for toolbox or class-based training and is suitable for all people within the manufacturing sector.

The video was produced in 2010 with the support from Employers Mutual Limited (funding body), the Safer Manufacturing Working Group, The Australian Industry Group, SA Branch (Project Manager) and a range of manufacturing businesses in South Australia. Assisting the working group was jonburke creative digital video (Project Consultant).
