Employer advice

As an employer you have a responsibility to provide:

• A safe workplace and safe work practices.
• All equipment tools, machinery and substances in a safe condition.
• Safe and hygienic facilities including toilets, eating areas and first aid.
• Information, training and supervision for all workers.
• Processes to inform and involve workers and their representatives in decisions that may affect their health and safety at work.
• Processes for identifying hazards, assessing risks and controlling those risks.
• Ways to record workplace injuries and illness.
