SAfer industries
The Safer Industries program aims to improve management of health and
safety by encouraging workplaces to adopt industry-specific Occupational
Health and Safety (OHS) initiatives developed by representative committees.
The program, which has been running since 1998, involves 13 selected
industries responsible for 60 percent of workers compensation claims in
South Australia.
Representation
Both employers and employees are represented on SAfer industry committees.
Membership of the committee reflects representative bodies - such as unions
or employer associations - and the make-up of the industry.
