Cleaning and property services industry OHS committee

The CleanSafe Committee, comprising representatives from employers, employees, and their respective associations, is the driving force to improve Occupational Health Safety and Welfare (OHS&W) within the industry.

In 2002 the committee was restructured and a new strategic plan was developed with the vision that all cleaning and property services operators in South Australia will be safe at work.

The objectives of the strategic plan are:

  1. The cleaning and property services industry will create leverage in the industry to improve the level of compliance to OHS&W standards in line with the goals of the committee.
  2. The cleaning and property services industry will aim to achieve a 10 per cent reduction in the cost and number of work related injuries from June 2002 to June 2005.
  3. The cleaning and property services industry will adopt and implement systems for continuous improvement for all industry sectors.
  4. The cleaning and property services industry will support, encourage and implement a consistent and cooperative approach that ensures a safe working environment for all levels of the industry.
