HSR training

HSR Training

You should receive training as soon as possible after your election. If your workplace has more than 20 workers, or your employer pays a levy to WorkCover, you are allowed five days training per year - without any loss of income.

If you work in a high risk industry or are from a small business with less than 100 workers your employer may be eligible for a subsidy.

Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) are responsible for organising their own training. You must discuss your choice of training dates with your employer.

Once you have done this you can make direct arrangements with the training provider to attend a course, or ask someone else to arrange the training on your behalf. You make the final decision about which course you attend.

Arranging Training

As a Health and Safety Representative (HSR), you should organise your own training. Discuss your preferred training dates with your employer.

Once the employer agrees you can make direct arrangements with the training provider or ask someone else to arrange the training on your behalf.

We do not sponsor or endorse any particular training provider. This information has been provided to inform HSRs about conferences and meetings that might interest them.
