Systems of work

A job safety analysis, or an evaluation of systems of work, can be used to determine the tasks associated with work practices which give rise to hazards.

A suggested procedure for job safety analysis is to:

• Select the job to be analysed.
• Record the sequence of basic job steps.
• Examine each part of the job for hazards.
• Develop ways to eliminate or control the hazards.
• Formulate and implement a work instruction.
